THE LEG with Van Jensen and Jose Pimienta

We're going IN DEPTH! That's right, this week we're going all out with the creators of the crowdfunded graphic novel The Leg by Van JensenJose Pimienta, and Matthew Petz.

Jensen (The Flash, Green Lantern Corps, Pinnochio: Vampire Slayer) and Pimienta (A Friendly Game) were both gracious enough to join us for the show and discuss their collaboration over this story's seven-year journey. They both drop a few hints about their next projects, including Pimienta's return to scripting and Jensen's collaboration with two HUGE artists. Who? CHECK THE CLICKBAIT, YO.

Next week sees the return of our friend Michael Moreci, writer of the Burning FieldsRoche Limit, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes! We're discussing an AMAZING Image Comic that left us too soon, Nowhere Men by Eric Stephenson, Nate Bellegarde, and Jordie Bellaire.

ARCHER AND ARMSTRONG with Omar Spahi and Siike Donnelly

Special Guest Host: Chase Magnett

The OSSM Comics crew returns to the podcast and this time Omar Spahi is joined by EIC Siike Donnelly for this week's show! It's a grand ole' time, laced with condescending half-truths and backhanded compliments that only your best friends can provide!

Aside from running OSSM Comics, Omar is also writing their current title Separators, the follow up to their hit series Xenoglyphs. Siike is also the writer of the series Monomyth, also from OSSM Comics.

We're all big fans of the relaunched Valiant Comics and we decided to discuss one of their best titles, Archer and Armstrong by Fred Van Lente, Clayton Henry, Matt Milla and Dave Lanphear. Who doesn't love an immortal bum with more holes in his memory than his underpants, his young and naive sidekick raised by zealots and trained to kill, on a crusade against an unholy union of secret societies?! (Don't say you, because that means no one likes you.)

Regular co-host Sam Morse will return next week for our in-depth discussion with Van Jensen and Jose Pimienta's beautiful, crowd-funded graphic novel, The Leg! Yell at us with the tweeters at #theBleedBC or email your thoughtful hatespeech to thebleed.bookclub@gmail.com!

STARLIGHT with Amy Reeder and Brandon Montclare

OK, so we might have broken into song a few times this episode. Blame Flash Gordon and Beyonce (/Beyoncé? I always forget). That's what happens when you bro out, y'know.

With that disclaimer out of the way, please WELCOME our good friends Brandon Montclare and Amy Reeder to the show. They've been behind kick-ass comics like Rocket Girl and Halloween Eve for Image Comics as well as other greatwork for the Big-Two.

They've brought Mark Millar and Goran Parlov's Starlight along with them. Hence, Flash Gordon. It's a fun, beautiful book full of people getting zapped in the face with big yellow laser beams. Comics, ladies and gentlemen!

Join us again next week when we read Valiant's Archer and Armstrong with the OSSM Comics crew of Omar Spahi and Siike Donnelly. Be rude to us with your anonymous twitter handle and the hashtag #theBleedBC or email us your scanned, homemade ransom notes at thebleed.bookclub@gmail.com (jpgs only, no PDFs)!
